LDPE

LDPE

The photographic work LDPE focuses on given spaces and sceneries as well as everyday objects that are reproduced and spread through the mass media. There are no humans, only the still life of the objects with their suggestive, flawless, elusive surfaces. The uniformity of all visible surfaces and the flawlessness of all things bespeaks a basically theoretical and utopian view of the world, which is presented here not as a model, but as given “reality.“ At the same time, one is faced with the question of the construction and deconstruction of truth.
The title LDPE (low density polyethylene) refers to a thermoplastic which--in a figurative sense--cocoons an actually existing world with layers of branched-out molecular chains.
